The N&W freight station of one of the AM&O designs with a tower was the 
previous depot. It stood west of the present station about a half mile 
on the same side of the track. It stood on up into the mid to latter 
1960s. I have a set of bedroom furniture that was slightly damaged in 
shipment that was purchased there.

The location was at the intersection of Union Street and Broome Street. 
This depot was built in the 1880s as a replacement of one (or two) that 
were burned during Union raids during the War Between The States. A 
boxcar was the temporary replacement that may have lasted longer than a 
few years.
