Shenandoah Passenger Power

I grew up a couple of hundred yards from the N&W tracks in Rileyville. 
Watching the unloading and loading of mail from Trains 13/14 at mid day 
has been a special memory of mine.

My question: The locomotives pulling Trains 13/14, as well as 1/2 (?) 
during the night, looked like Js. Were they?
