colors of MOW equipment in 1920's?

MofW cars in the 1920's appear to have been painted about the same as in
the 1940's. House cars had a light body and dark roofs. In the 1940's,
the colors were cream and brown. Lettering was black. It is possible
that in the 1020's the bodies could have been a light gray, but I have
no documentation for this. Other cars, such as flats and water tenders
were black with white lettering, and this was standard for many years.
The two custom built "stores" cars had a dark body when new, and I have
no idea what color they were. But you can bet that the lettering was
