Strange motive power

Well, I have noticed EVO's are quieter than the Dash 9's, but to show just how little I've kept up with things lately, I thought the Dash 9's numbers hit 9999 and rolled over, so they started them over at 7500. I need to pay more attention I guess.
   
  All the EVO's I have seen were in primer too.
   
  Nah, my favorite diesel has always been the SD40-2 High short hood locomotives.  High short hood SD45's would be a close second.  
   
  Now, these new EMD units freak me out!  What are they, SD70M-2's?  They are monsterous, and intimidating.  But, living on the side of a 1.4% grade, I can honestly say the Dash 9's shake the ground much more than anything else that comes by.  Doesn't matter if its an NS, BNSF, whatever.  They also are more prone to blow fire out of the stack too!

      They are supposed to be the more environmentally friendly units. WHAT!!! You didn't see the huge full page ads GE placed in USA Today and other high end mags? 
      From what I have read, the railfans are going ga-ga over them, while the operating employees think they are two steps backward from the Dash9's.
