Big Falls Cut is between Dry Branch and Berton  on the Radford   Division.  
OK, if you can't find Dry Branch or Berton on the map, try Belspring.   It's
between Belspring and Eggleston.   Topo maps show that the ridge  that
the railroad negotiates is Cloyd's Mountain -- farther to the west, at  the
Battle of Cloyd's Mountain,  the Confederates attempted to hold off  Union
army saboteurs that were en route to Dublin to demolish the V&T.
 
The cover photo of the February, 1946 edition of  Trains shows the cut, the
curve, Cloyd's Mountain, the New River, and an eastbound N&W  freight.
