1907 - Tidewater builds in Salem

Salem, March 2

    A large force of men and about forty head of mules arrived 
yesterday to begin work, the first of next week on the Tidewater. An 
overhead bridge, similar to the one at the [N&W] passenger station, 
will be erected across Colorado street and a stone retaining wall 
will be built along the side of the river where the river bed was 
changed at the old Martin mill site.
