One, if not the, reason for no domes until after 1965 is that the unlined tunnel about a mile west of the Lynchburg passenger station did not have enough clearance for dome cars. In 1965, passenger trains began to use the Belt Line and stopped at the new station west of Kinney Yard, thus bypassing the tunnel.

I recall riding the Pocahontas from Christiansburg to Lynchburg about 1969. It had a dome that, I believe, went all way through..... Cincinnati to Norfolk.

No. None on any N&W trains or the combined trains with the Southern that ran through.

Question -
Did the Norfolk & Western every use any of the Domed Passenger cars on any of their regular passenger trains? I realize that they "inherited" some from the Wabash after their merger, but I am asking specifically about either the Powhatan rrow, or the Pocahontas.
Thanks
Frank Jefferson
