Well, actually, no. I suspect that was a tongue-in-cheek statement, but
there may be folks new to the industry who would benefit from some serious
observations:
1. The track has to be up to FRA class standards for the desired speed.
2. Without ATC/cab signal, the top speed is 79 mph, period, end of
discussion.
3. I don't know what the normal Bristol line passenger MAS is per Employee
Timetable. I THINK, but those of you who really know should correct me if I'm
wrong, that so long as 1 & 2 are met, a special order could be issued for
higher than normal MAS for a special run.
