Harry,
I hereby nominate you to be the official "puzzle guy" for the N&WHS mailing list. Like the "car guys" on NPR, you could come up with a puzzler every week (or more often) and choose a winner at random from all correct entries. I'll have to think about an appropriate prize. But you are definitely the puzzle guru.

Right on, Sam ! The painting depicts 1201, 611, and 1218 all
with sealed beam headlights. I had to look in a Norfolk Div.
timetable to see if the A's were restricted on the quarry spur.
They weren't, but then I kinda doubt they did quarry switching.
As for the Fogg painting, a poor choice of words on my part.
Eng 1218 is passing a stop-and-stay signal governing trains
in the opposite direction. It isn't the A, it's the signal that's
flawed.
And in the morning's TIMES, it seems someone crafted a
statue of Christopher Newport with both arms. Captain
Newport had lost one arm in 1590. Artistic license ?
