Joe,
    It was first built when the original line was constructed. This was
originally a trestle which extended southward on what is today a fill that
ended near the switch for the passenger main that ran down to the station.
The Shenandoah Valley Railroad was cash strapped and this was not improved
with a fill and reconstructed with steel bridges over the B&O and the
adjacent roadway until after N&W absorbed the SVRR.          Mason Cooper
