Jawn Henry telescoping a caboose? Did this really happen?

I do not have access to "Rails Remembered", nor to the Jim 
Nichols-referenced issue of "Trains", but the story does accord with an 
account reported in a piece (Arrow, Vol 15, n 5, p.11) I  put together 
on the "overlooked" pusher siding at Irving, for WB action (running 
backwards) heading for Blue Ridge.  An old-timer I luckily hailed right 
at the pusher siding site told me that he had "been there" after an 
over-zealous "diesel" (maybe he mistook 2300 for same; anyway, not a Y), 
hell-bent out of the siding, had busted up a waiting caboose on the 
main.  "Hard coupling," for sure!
