Norfolk and Western Orders More Engines

    The Norfolk and Western is having four locomotives built at the Baldwin locomotive works.  They are of classes "J" "W" "B" and "A,"   respectively.  The equipment is to consist of Carnegie fire box steel, Latrobe tires, Franklin boiler covering, piston valves, monitor injectors [sic. Should be "Monitor injectors."], journal bearings, Pyle-National electric headlight, Westinghouse brakes, Ashton safety valves, Nathan lubricators, United States metallic packing, Crosby steam gauges, Leach sanders and cast steel driving wheel centers.

[The Class W were built in 1898 and 1899, so this article probably refers to a Class W2.  Richard Prince's N&W book gives a clue why the article refers to just four locomotives being built, i.e., one locomotive in each of the above Classes was built in 1904 for display by Baldwin in the St. Louis Exposition.  The four locomotives displayed were as follows:
    Class J, 4-4-2 Atlantic No. 606
    Class W2, 2-8-0 Consolidation No. 729
    Class B, 2-8-0 Consolidation No. 61
    Class A, 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler No. 90.]
