Ike "Special"

I was just 8 years old in 1952 when my dad,who worked for N&W took me out of 
school and we drove over to Starkey and climbed up on the bank of a cut about 
a mile or so south of the station to watch Ike's train come through. We were 
so close to the J's as they came by under us that you could feel the ground 
shake - especially if you were just 8.I also was at the dedication of the 
Marshall library in 1964 as a Rat in the Corps at VMI. All I remember about that day 
is how long we stood there in parade formation.Much better to watch the J's in 
action!
