There appears to be a misprint in this Roanoke Times article where it states
that the new locomotives (presumably the 268 units) would cost five million
dollars (that would be only $18,656.72 each). The 1959 annual report states
that the expenditure for 204 units received that year was $36.6 million
(that would be $179,411.76 each, a more reasonable figure).
