We have both the 8" and the 12" hooter bells for #475. The 8" sounds good and it is loud, but nowhere near as loud as #1218's whistle. The 12" sounds like the fireman isn't doing his job with the steam pressure. It is very low pitched and "chirps" very easily. The difference is the boiler pressure on #475 is 200 psi vs. 300 psi on the A and Y classes.
