TALKS OF YESTERDAY
Capt. "Bill" O'Connor who was in charge of the work of construction on the Clinch Valley almost twenty years ago, and has been conductor on the line since its completion, said that no man can realize the great improvement that has taken place along that line in these years. Nearly every house has been improved, many new school houses and churches built, the manner of farming improved. The reckless, liquor-filled man who used to try to "take the train" has disappeared, to say nothing of the towns that have sprung up and the industries that have been established. It is a fine section and destined to enjoy great material development.
