"A" tanks

The aux. tender behind NKP 759 appears to have been converted from an N&W
15K tender, possibly rescued from MofW service. All the "A" tanks were
rebuilt from 16K tenders, so this is not one of them, even though it is

I believe that the aux. tender (water car) that was used behind NKP #759
during the 1960s and '70s was an original N&W "A" tank. As far as I know
it's still at Steamtown in Scranton, PA.
