HORRIBLY MANGLED UNDER ENGINE WHEELS
------
Juilus Oggr, Italian, Had Left Leg and Arm Crushed and Hips Mutilated
Juilus Oggr, an Italian section man employed on the Norfolk and Western, was horribly crushed yesterday afternoon a few minutes after 3 o'clock near the Mercer street bridge while he was at work. The man had just thrown a shovel full of dirt to one side when an engine backed up on him, catching him in such a way that he was lodged in the brake rigging. His left leg and arm were crushed and his hips were horrible mutilated. Several other serious wounds which exposed his intestines were sustained. The man was at one removed to the Bluefield Sanitarium by the Bluefield Undertaking Company's ambulance, but the chances of his life being saved are so slim that it was hardly throught he would live an hour. So far as is known the man has no relatives here.

[Another sensitive treatment of a personal tragedy by the newspapers of that era.]
