Making Room for New Depot
    The Welch Lumber Company has acquired, according to reports, a new site on the vacant lot near the Welch Ice and Cold Storage plant in which it will move shortly.  By this arrangement it will be possible for the Norfolk and Western to move its tracks at the station and make room for the new depot which is to be erected and which will provide for a wider train shed.  It will be necessary to construct new lumber sheds and transfer the large stock which the company continually keeps on hand.
