Jeff,
I'm not sure if I can dig up a date for you. I'll try. But, as far as a location name is concerned, all the signals approaching JK were refered to as "JK". So, depending upon which direction you were coming from, you would call the signal (for instance) "Clear signal, south of JK" (or, North, West, etc. Also, some simply refered to it as "South end of double track".

Does anyone know what month/year the double track on the Winston-Salem District through Roanoke was removed? I know it was sometime between 1997 and 2002 but am hoping someone can provide a more accurate timeline. This would be the segment from Bullitt Avenue SE to just south of the diamond at JK. Also the interlocking just south of JK where the double track ended, what was that called?
