Before there was Brosnan Forest (NS's employee resort and meeting center), there
was Almond, NC on the Murphy Branch.. D. W. Brosnan owned property there and
each fall, every Southern supervisor was expected to attend a week's worth of pep talks.
Each Sunday, an office car special would operate Almond to Asheville to connect with the Asheville Special. Each day started at 6:00 AM and ended at 11:00 PM after a sing-a-long.
