NWHS members are invited to a program and field trip to study  the 57 miles 
long, 42" gauge South River Lumber Company logging railroad  that met with 
N&W's Shenandoah Division at Cornwall, Va., about eight miles  north of 
Buena Vista.   Aubrey Wiley, an N&WHS member, will give the  digital picture and 
history program to the Blue Ridge (Lynchburg) Chapter NRHS  at Charley's 
Restaurant on Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg on Wednesday, March 23.  Dinner will 
be at 6:00 pm with the program starting at 7:00 pm.  There will  not be any 
business at this "Fun Meeting."  Aubrey will lead a tour of  remaining grade 
locations in the high mountains of Amherst, Nelson and  Rockbridge counties 
on Saturday, March 26. The road trip rain date is April  9.  The South River 
Lumber Company's railroad had five Climax locomotives  and during its 
operating years of 1916 to 1938, it produced over 100 million  board feet  of 
lumber, primarily chestnut.
