TWENTY COAL CARS WRECK ON BRIDGE
------
Smash-Up East of Lynchburg Delays Traffic on Norfolk and Western, No One Hurt
As a result of a wreck on the Norfolk and Western east of Lynchburg when twenty coal cars plunged together, wrecking a bridge, which had to be rebuilt before trains could pass, Nos. 15 and 3 were delayed yesterday. Train No. 3 was run in two sections last night, the first section running to Columbus, while the second section, which arrived here as the regular train, about midnight, carried the Cincinnati sleeper. The train was run in two sections because of the need of carrying the mail, and because the train was carrying through passengers. A dining car was run on the train as far as this city, from which point it was turned back to Roanoke and went east on No. 86. The dining car was placed in the train equipment in spite of the fact that but three persons were served during the trip from Roanoke to this city. The first section also carried a dining car and regular equipment, less the Cincinnati sleeper.
The wreck which caused the delay is said to have been caused by a broken arch bar. No one was injured.
