IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
Found Dead by Track
The dead body of an unknown American was found lying beside the track near Eckman last night about 6 o'clock. The man was evidently killed by a yard crew train. Nothing was found on his body which would give a clue to his identity. Personally he was a man of good appearance, well dressed and wore a sandy moustache which was somewhat lighter than his hair. He apparently was about fifty years old. His body was taken to the railroad station in the hope that it might be identified this morning. It is not thought that he was a miner.
------
[The reference to the body as American was because other articles often identified the victims as being Italians. There were many Italians in the coalfields because they came to work as miners. Regarding the disposition of the body, would the body have been put on display in the station in order for someone to identify it?]
