WOMAN TAKEN ILL ON TRAIN DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. William Reiferschild Was on Her Way From Petersburg to Streator, Ill., When She Became Sick
    Mrs. William Reiferschid [sic] died yesterday at a local hospital of heart failure. The woman, who was a passenger on train No. 3 on Sunday night, had to be taken from the train here as a result of serious sickness.   At. the. time it was thought she might have had an attack of appendicitis and the railroad officials at her request carried her from the Pullman car to a hospital. She showed no signs of improvement, and yesterday morning at. 7:30 she breathed her last. The woman said she was on her way from Petersburg to Streator, Ill., and yesterday communication with her husband brought advices from him which will result in the sending of the body to that place this morning. It appears the woman went south several months ago for her health, which did not improve, and Saturday she suddenly made up her mind that she would return home, as she felt she might as well die at home as at Petersburg.  Without advising her relatives she started for home but death overtook her here.

Go to Engineers' Meet
    George P. Johnson, accompanied by W. R. Dawson, left yesterday for Chicago where they will attend the meeting of the American Railway Engineers' Association.  C. S. Churchill, chief engineer of the Norfolk and Western went to Chicago on Sunday.  Among others who will be present will be W. H. Coffman, of this city, who will show and advertise his patent steel railroad tie and concrete railroad bed.

[Johnson was General Superintendent and Dawson was assistant superintendent (or maybe superintendent by then) at Bluefield.]
