The first card, the overhead view with the Class J on the bridge is Elliston, Virginia with an eastbound passenger extra, taken fall of 1940-41, don't have my notes in front of me.
The second card is the westbound Powhatan Arrow taken from Route 100 at Pearisburg, Virginia. This was taken about 1950.
Both shots are virtually impossible to duplicate today due to tree growth.

The postcard says “A modern passenger train threads its course along one of the rivers flowing through an industrial and agricultural valley of Virginia.” Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
