Superintendent at the Throttle
    When passenger train No. 14 pulled into Princeton station Thursday evening a much disturbed colored porter on the Virginian club car, got off the steps and declared: "Dat man certainly did pull dis train comin' up de road.  It must be a new man in de cab, 'cause when we passed Gardner de kyars was a weavin' an' a rockin' des lak dey gwine tuh leave de track."  No. 14 was on time Thursday and when the porter saw who it was that "pulled" it in, his eyes got larger and he crawled back in the car without saying a word.  For it had been the general superintendent, Lefis [spelling?] R. Taylor, who had pulled 14 in on the schedule for the first time in weeks.  And when he climbed down out of the cab, smoke-begrimed and smiling, several old railroad men shook their heads and offered bets that 14 would be on time hereafter.

Has Leg Ground Off
    On Wednesday at King's Siding, a small station on the Virginian, six miles west of this place, twelve year old Andrew Lucas in attempting to board a moving freight train, slipped and fell under the wheels, with the result that one of his legs was ground off.  He was promptly removed to the hospital at Rock, where he is reported as getting along very nicely, notwithstanding his terrible experience.
