VIRGINIAN EXTENSION
------
Will Build Line to Coal Plant--Other Construction Contemplated
Through the Piney River and Paint Creek railroad, which it now controls, the Virginian Railway has contracted with Caudill & Co., for an extension of its lines about three-fourth of a mile from the Piney River and Paint Creek road to the plant of the Beckley Coal Company, and clearing for the right of way has been commenced. In addition the road has engineers at work acquiring a right of way from Pemberton to Mabscott, about three and a half miles, which work will cost between three and four hundred thousands of dollars to complete. Engineering corps are going ahead and it is generally believed by the Beckley people that the plans of the Virginian call for considerable extending of the line into territory from which tonnage can be secured.
