Interlocking tower locations

That would be "X" tower.  It was an N&W tower.  
 
If you have access to back issues of Railpace Newsmagazine, the February,  
1990 issue has extensive coverage of railfan locations in the Lynchburg  
area.

According to some N&W employee timetables kindly included in the  NWHS 
Annual Convention book:
-Forest is located where the west end of the Lynchburg Belt Line joined  
the main line through downtown Lynchburg.  Measured from Crewe, it's  81.07 
miles west of Crewe via the main line and 79.47 miles from  Crewe via the 
Lynchburg Belt Line.
- Jack is located where the west end of the Petersburg Belt Line  joined 
the main line through Petersburg.  It is 85.90 miles from  Norfolk and 41.19 
miles east of Crewe.
