Hi List,

 

                For those inquiring about the two diesels giving help to the
Tennessee Valley's ex-SR 630.  The engines are actually a mother and slug
set.  NS #716 is a slug unit.  Slugs do not have diesel engines.  They get
their electric from the "mother" engine.  The way I understand it is that
the GP40-2 and slug have the starting tractive effort two GP 40-2's without
the fuel consumption of two diesel engines.
