Richard,
     The Glasgow coal would go to the HYCO plant down on the Durham 
line. If there were mtys in Roanoke, we would take them down and deliver 
them back to the C&O at Balcony Falls. As you say, we would double the 
train from Lithia to Troutville. If other trains were coming, we had to 
cut the north most road crossing between the switches, pull up and then 
cut the head the portion of the train off. If no trains were close, the 
dispatcher would let us cut off in Ball's Hole, north of the north 
switch at Lithia. Then we only made one cut. If you got lucky, and lite 
units were coming south, you could get a push into Roanoke.
