Girder Bridge Question

In the O. Winston Link books, steel overpasses appear to be painted silver
with black lettering, "NORFOLK AND WESTERN."  Some such examples are still
visible in Pennsylvania, one across the river from Pittsburgh on Highway 51
(former Wabash trackage), and one visible from Interstate 70 near Belle
Vernon, PA.
