Bluefield Coal Show

My father attended back in the 50's and early 60's.  It was an annual event.  No idea on when they changed it to the current format.  It was a SHOW to attend for the coal industry.

Lois: My memory is that the Coal Show was held EVERY year. I'm talking about the late 1940's and early 1950's when it was held at the freight station. I think later it moved to the armory in Brush Fork, so they may have made it semi-annual by then. (I can't confirm this either way) I attended every year while I was in high school. It was generally written up in the Norfolk & Western Magazine each year, with emphasis on the N&W's equipment exhibit for that year. So check the Archives N&W Mag. collection. I am presently researching the Bluefield Coal Show, held every two years and featured in the N&W Magazine.
