A must see publication from Model Railroader magazine is the  2014 Great 
Model Railroads.  The leading ten page article is on  Gerry Alber's  Virginian 
Railway, Deepwater District where it is always  summer 1959. Following 
Gerry's feature is an article the "connecting model  railroad" of W. Allen 
McClelland, the Virginian & Ohio.  Both  beautiful layouts are illustrated by 
excellent photography and the stories make  the concepts of the two layouts 
clearly understandable.
