As info. Eng 1531 was also in a pusher consist in a head=end collision
at Finney.    Date of collision was   8-25-1970
Correct.  The railroad location is named Finney, but the post office
is Coulwood.  Eng 1531 seemed to have a knack for being in the right
place when collisions were involved.  

One other SD35 of interest was the 1530.  In 1971 it had been in the
consist of BS-3 leaving Bellevue.  N&W had a run-through agreement
with SSW.   N&W and SSW (SP) units supplied the power between
Bellevue and Pine Bluff, Ark for symbols BS-3 and MB-98.  SSW (SP)
units were turned back to the owning road at Bellevue and the N&W units
were to turn at Pine Bluff.  Eng 1530 was demolished in a head-end
collision on the SP in Arizona, so that one didn't get repainted.
