Even into the 1970s, Texas Gulf
Sulphur, on the old NS,  was loading
phosphate into box cars with cardboard
in the doorway.   Not all distributors
of fertilizer materials had the capa-
bility to unload covered hoppers and
gonds.  Nice part was TGS could use
boxes previously loaded with tankage,
leaving the Class A cars to go to Durham
for American Tobacco Co.  Harry Bundy
