Regarding seeing high prices:
Just remember it takes not just ONE but TWO people who have to have that
image. Second) beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Three) If you think
$139 is high for slides ............ then you haven't chased many of them.
I have seen and heard of them going occasionally for multiples of that
number when two or more people "have to have it." The marketplace makes its
own rules, that's another fact of our capitalistic society. Look at some
postcards which also sometimes go for looney-tunes prices as well; several
hundred bucks a piece.
Haven't some of you occasionally really wanted something and gone that
extra mile (or hundred dollars) for "it?" It might not be for everyone or
just anyone, but those two people -- the ebay sellers must rejoice at those
occasional yummies which come along. Hallelujah for the free market
economy. Just think of the super rare timetable that you want, or that
specially perfectly weathered model or "perfect photo" location and then it
all comes into focus.
