Tazewell gets grant to restore train station

 While the train didn’t stop at the North Tazewell station July 2 the sound of “all aboard’ was heard.
  About 50 people gathered at the station that day to learn that the bulk of the money needed to renovate the facility has been obtained.  Mayor Don Buchanan announced that the Commonwealth Transportation board approved a grant of $323,997 to the committee looking to revive the facility. <snip>
The station is one of only two still standing on the original Clinch Valley line of Norfolk Southern.   The town and the committee plan an all day open house to showcase the terminal July 25.
