Thanks so much for all the help*!!!* Been trying to wrap my head around
why the N&W and Richmond Fredricksburg & Potomac acquired groups of Pullman
parlor cars that were reconfigured as high capacity coaches and I am now
inclined to believe that these coaches were acquired for handling military
traffic along its lines. Both lines had their cars rebuilt to 84-seat to
86-seat coaches with minimal bathroom facilities (unlike "Pg" coaches which
usually had four bathrooms and, originally, 80-seats. The configuration
matches cars that were done by the Pennsylvania of similar cars around the
same period of time so I think my thought that these were used for military
movements is a reasonable one. Oddly enough 10 of the "Pn" coaches lasted
until they were rebuilt to "MS1" storage mail cars in 1952, making for an
opportunity for modelers to include these in military trains if a modeler
desires. I know I will be including some for this purpose as a part of my
staging.
