N&W Shenandoah Junction station c. 1956

Shenandoah Junction station circa 1956.
There is not much in these photos recognizable today.  There was a plan in
the 1920's to build a two level "union station" so N&W trains would not
have back in/out from their main for a station stop.  It was never built.
The station site is NS property and this is still the case.  Survey stakes
were placed there about four years ago in anticipation of CSX tracks being
lowered under the NS main.
