That is a great photo of the 12th St YMCA ! 

On the original, can you make out what the signs say (a) over the stairs and (b) atop the rectangular east portion of the structure? 

Too bad the N&W (apparently) did not maintain a structures book giving the dates of construction for its buildings. At any rate, this YMCA building most likely appeared at the same time as the West Roanoke Round Houses.
