Southbound only, a Class J won't clear the span across the Dan River near Pine Hall.
For the Eisenhower Special,  two Js were hauled backwards Roanoke to North
Winston and one at a time were turned on the greased loop track.   Harry Bundy

A correction please.  I went home and reviewed Louis Newton's Rails Remembered,
Vol. 3 and apparently the Class J will clear the Dan River bridge southbound. It's
probably the Class A that has too much overhang.    Harry Bundy
