Bucky Wilson

For whatever reason we have failed to inform the membership in a timely
manner about the death of long time N&WHS member Dr. Charles "Bucky"
Wilson.  After a battle with cancer he died on May 25, 2017 in Greensboro,
NC.

Growing up during the later years of N&W's steam era in Crew, VA  Bucky
developed an early love and appreciation for the N&W Ry.  For many years
Bucky was an integral member of the Norfolk & Western Historical Society.
He served on the Board of Directors from 2001 through 2004 and was Vice
President from 2005 through 2010. Bucky was also a major contributor to,
"The Arrow", especially noted for his writings the Buchanan Branch.
He also co-authored
with Ed Wolfe and Paul Mandelkern  *Norfolk and Western's Clinch Valley
Line *published in 2013.

Bucky was an avid railroad photographer and a personal friend to many of
us.  He will be greatly missed.
