Coal fired UP and range fires

Diesels throw sparks too.  You got that right Ron H.  In the late 60s,
Lamberts Point became a collection point for the odd balls - FM  H16-44s
Alco RSD-12s, etc.  One assignment was to call two light units to go to
Sewells Point and bring back 180 loads to Lamberts Point.  The Norfolk
fire departments were called to put out fires by the smoking FM H16-44s
along the former VGN right-of-way.  In "Speedy "  Bradley's office,  there
was a board that displayed the FM "smokers" and the FM "non-smokers".
Only the "non-smokers" could make the Sewells Point round trip.
