As of 8-2015 it was still there and the house in the background looks to be made of coal also.

Yes, like Ken said, 'The Coal House' White Sulphur Springs . Rt 60 east on the entrance ramp to I 64 East. I have a bear around here somewhere, made from West Virginia ' coal, from there when they sold stuff in the 70's. Its cool
here's a pic https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/11635
Says it was built in 1959. I think it burned once, but the fire department saved it.

Hi Kevin
I cannot say I am an expert on anything, but I do not recall any building in Bluefield made of coal, but there is one in Williamson, that I believe the Chamber of Commerce uses.
There was one on the corner of Shenandoah Avenue and 10th Street in Roanoke that was demolished in the late 1970s when the 10th Street Bridge was replaced, it was a coal dealer, so indeed, there could have been one like it in Bluefield.
There is also one in White Sulphur Springs.

My father told us kids, yes, it was made of coal. He had spent much of his child in Bluefield. I can't recall what else he told us about the building.
