Railroad in U.K.

Yes, it is the East Coast with some interesting museums. In addition to 
the incomparable Nat. Rly. Museum in York, the Beamish Museum in county 
Durham has reconstructed and operating primitive steam RR and mining 
operations (also a reconstructed 1800's town for any female traveling 
companion), you can visit the castle in Newcastle and look down upon 
trains rolling in and out of the wonderful Central Station and you can 
walk into the hall where Stevenson built his first steam engines.
