MoW question

A friend asked if I could help with his question listed below.  I believe this group can give him a much better answer.

Any help please.

" am doing several MW cars for N & W.  I also have 4 that I picked up over the years.  The ones I have picked up are dark green (Gondolas and Hoppers).  They have MW numbers.  However, in pictures I see Black, Dirty red/orange and for personnel cars - Blue.  Any idea what is correct for the late 50's?"
