After reading both Roanoke newspaper articles in this email I'm resending this Roanoke Chapter, NRHS email out again. The Roanoke Chapter grant to restore the Roanoke Chapter's Jim Crow era passenger car Number 512 is of great importance. I'm so proud to be a member of both the NRHS and the Roanoke Chapter and applaud them for preserving this reminder of what most of us thought and prayed represented days gone by. The saying that history repeats itself is a very scary thought. Too many peoples have fought and died so every American could deserve respect! I can't stand the thought of America going back to the days of treating peoples poorly and without just cause! Let's don't go down this road again. Please.
The second newspaper article is also a must read. Ellen Arnold deserved the accolades written about her and Jim. All of us have lost many friends over the last few years. Most were of older folks. Our BRC Member Gene Campbell would have turned 98 years old this week and the Roanoke Chapter's Ellen Arnold was 88 years old. Looks like to me that our senior citizens can make a big difference in everyone's lives if given a chance. Please read the two articles in this email. Thanks.

The August general meeting of the Roanoke Chapter NRHS will be held on Thursday, August 15 at 7:30 pm at the O. Winston Link Museum.
