N&W CPLs, the last generation

   There have been several questions about the last PL signals installed on the N&W. ________________________________________________________________
In the early 1970's when the Winston District was upgraded from ABS territory toTraffic Control,  additional position light signals were required.  Not sure whetherUnion Switch & Signal couldn't supply them or if it was an economy move, butthe signals on the Norfolk District were re-spaced account longer trains and theleft-overs went to the Pun'kin Vine.
