Jack:I'll give you two figures -- 180 and 400.  In the 1960sbefore the coal permit system went into effect, one inevery three trains went to Sewalls Point.  The coalwould linger there until a buyer was found for the coaland then it was transferred Sewalls Point to Lambertspoint usually in 180 - car lots.
400 ?  N&W paid the police and a train doubled out ofLamberts Point with about 400 mtys at 2:00 AM.  Duringthe double over and brake test it blocked Colley Avenue,then a grade crossing.  After the brake test, the trainran to South Norfolk and turned west on the ex-VGN.
